Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Main), earlier All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), is an examination conducted by the Government of India. National Testing Agency (NTA) is organised in India. This exam is conducted for candidates who wish to pursue a career in the field of engineering and technical studies. JEE exam is also a gateway to various reputed engineering colleges (both government and private) in India. This exam is held twice a year and candidates can appear for both the exams. The first attempt will be in January and the second in April. The highest marks will be considered for admission to engineering colleges. The exam will be conducted online. The exam is the entry point for aspiring engineers to all private colleges of technology, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs etc in India. JEE (Main) is also the entry point for the JEE (Advanced) exam, which is the final entry to IITs across India. The curriculum is equivalent to classes 11 and 12 (NCERT textbooks).
JEE Advanced (previously known as IIT-JEE) is the second entrance exam after JEE Main for students seeking admission to IITs. Around 0.9 to 1.1 million students appear for JEE Main every year. JEE Main candidates in the top 250,000 seats qualify for JEE (Advanced), but only 46.5% are from the open category and the rest are from the reserved category. These 250,000 candidates need to be in the top 20% of the successful candidates in their category or score 75% in the final grade 12 exam.
JEE Advanced is held for admission to 23 IITs across India. The exam is conducted online once a year and contains objective questions. IITs are the most elite and premier engineering educational institutes known for their quality engineering education, world-class infrastructure and world-class faculty. They are the premier institutes in India that have been accorded the status of Institutes of National Importance.
Apart from the 23 IITs, science students can also apply to the following educational institutes across India based on their JEE (Advanced) rankings.

Maharashtra Health Technology Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) is another entrance exam conducted by the Maharashtra Department of Technical Education and Govt. for engineering students to gain admission to various technical courses in technical colleges in Maharashtra (Public Polytechnics – 100% of seats and Private Polytechnics, 85% of seats). This exam is conducted online only once a year. This exam is only open to students residing in Maharashtra.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (or NEET UG), formerly known as the All India Pre. -Medical Test (AIPMT). It is an Indian entrance exam for students who wish to pursue a medical degree (MBBS), dental degree (BDS), or any other medical course in government and/or private medical and dental universities in India. The exam is usually conducted once a year in the month of May. It is an offline exam. After the passing of the NMC Act 2019 in September 2019, NEET-UG became the common entrance exam for medical colleges in India, including All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER). The recommended syllabus for this exam is the NCERT textbooks for classes 11 and 12 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).

The syllabus is based on the standard Physics, Chemistry and Biology textbooks of the Maharashtra Government. XI (Limited Part) + Std.XII (Full Part). This exam will be conducted only once a year and will be conducted online.

Maharashtra High School Certificate Examination is a Class 12 Certificate Examination (HSC) conducted by MSBSHSE. The test is conducted twice a year, in February or March, followed immediately by a second attempt in June or July.
